FARMINGTON – Local Shriners are again sponsoring a free screening clinic to identify children in the Franklin County region who could benefit from the orthopedic and burn care provided by Shriners Hospitals. This year’s screening clinic will be held on Saturday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon in the outpatient (wound) clinic at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

Pediatrician Dr. Lorien Batt will be the attending physician.

Any children under 18 who have problems of the bones, joints, or muscles, or problems associated with healed burns are encouraged to attend the clinic for an evaluation and to see if they are eligible for free treatment at Shriners Hospitals. Conditions that can be treated include neuromuscular disorders, clubfoot, leg length discrepancies, scoliosis, cleft palate, and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis to name a few.

All medical care provided at Shriners Hospitals is provided at no cost to the patient, family, insurance provider, or government agency. No appointments are necessary for the screening clinic.
