Livermore Falls medical practice expands hours, programs

LIVERMORE FALLS – Nobody ever makes plans to get sick or require medical care and that’s why Western Maine Family Health Center (WMFHC) has added Open Access Scheduling and expanded walk-in hours for both current and new patients. WMFHC is the only Practice in the immediate area to now feature this unique brand of scheduling.

As its name implies, Open Access Scheduling helps ensure that you or a family member can be seen the same day you call for an appointment – no more waiting until the next day or unnecessary trips to the emergency room for routine care.

“Open Access Scheduling allows our providers to see new patients almost immediately without affecting the level of care we provide to our current patients” according to WMFHC Practice Manager Ann Barnett. “It is a tried and true scheduling method that has been used effectively around the country for a number of years.”

Local residents who are currently waiting to see a medical provider are perfect examples of those who could benefit most with this scheduling, added Barnett.

“There’s no reason for anyone to wait and be seen for medical care anymore,” said Barnett. “Our providers and staff are excited and ready to meet and serve the needs of the community.”

Expanding walk-in-hours is another way the Practice has decided to better serve their local community. Originally only offered on Mondays and Fridays, walk-in-hours will now be available five days a week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. Those coming in for walk-in-hours are asked to sign in by 8:30 a.m., and visits will be limited to one acute medical issue per person. Acute medical issues include earaches, sore throats, severe coughs, colds, high fever, sudden rashes, etc.

WMFHC also features Saturday hours from 8:00 a.m. to Noon and has 24-hour on-call availability for established patients. The Practice is located at 80 Main Street, Central Plaza in Livermore Falls.
