FARMINGTON – A 20-year-old man was treated for minor injuries after the vehicle he was driving went off the road and struck a utility pole on the Fairbanks Road this morning.

Nathan Allen of New Vineyard was traveling north on Route 4/Fairbanks Road when his 1993 Toyota pick-up truck went off the road near the Stinchfield Road intersection, struck a utility pole and landed in a ditch, according to Officer Matthew Hunt of the Farmington Police Department, who received the call at 9:18 a.m.

“We’re continuing the investigation into the exact cause,” Hunt said of the accident. No one else was involved in the crash.

Allen received minor cuts and was evaluated at the scene by a NorthStar ambulance crew and was then transported to Franklin Memorial Hospital for further evaluation. Allen, according to spokeswoman Jill Gray, “was treated and released” from the hospital.

Traffic was blocked off while emergency crews from the Farmington and Strong fire departments worked to clear the scene.
