Franklin County Sheriff’s Office weekly report for Jan. 29 – Feb. 5, 2016:

Deputies responded to 163 calls for service during this time period

1/29/2016 Cpl. Matt Brann and Deputy Justin Lowe received a harassment complaint earlier last week from an adult female victim in the town of Eustis. After conducting the initial investigation, Detective Ken Charles conducted follow up interviews with the victim and with the alleged suspect, Wesley Adams, 25, of Strong. After completing interviews, Detective Charles determined he had enough probable cause and arrested Adams on the charge of Class D misdemeanor domestic violence stalking. Mr. Adams did post bail; the case is still under investigation.

1/29/2016 Cpl. Kevin Hartley responded to a single vehicle crash on Route 17 in Rangeley Plt. No injuries were reported.

1/30/2016 Cpl. Hartley and Cpl. Nate Bean responded to River Road in Avon to assist the State Police with a domestic disturbance.

1/30/2016 Cpl. Bean responded to a Chesterville residence regarding a report of a person threatening suicide. Investigation revealed that no threat was made.

1/31/2016 Cpl. Hartley and Cpl. Bean responded to the Stinchfield Hill Road in Chesterville regarding a domestic disturbance. No charges were filed.

1/31/2016 Cpl. Bean investigated a suspicious incident on the Shadagee Road in Industry. A concerned neighbor saw a light that was left on at an unoccupied log cabin. Bean conducted a check, all was secure.

1/31/2016 Cpl. Hartley responded to Greg’s Auto in New Sharon regarding a report of suspicious activity. It was reported an unknown person was near the garage. No one was found.

1/31/2016 Deputy Brad Scovil and Cpl. Bean located a woman in New Sharon, Joann Demorro, 51, at the request of Skowhegan police who had probable cause warrant to arrest her on a charge of violation of conditions of release. Demorro was taken into custody and turned over to Somerset County deputies.

2/1/2016 Cpl. Hartley assisted State Police with a report of a domestic disturbance on the Reeds Mills Road in Madrid. It appeared that a brother and sister were having a verbal argument. No charges were filed.

2/1/2016 Deputy Scovil, Chief Deputy Steve Lowell and Lt. David St. Laurent responded to Varnum Pond Road in Temple for a report of a domestic disturbance. After conducting interviews at the scene, Deputy Scovil arrested Richard Kelly, 30, on a charge of domestic violence assault.

2/1/2016 Cpl. Hartley and Deputy Lowe investigated a fraud complaint on the Lane Road in New Sharon. A woman was scammed out of $5,000 on an online dating service.

2/1/2016 Cpl. Hartley investigated a complaint of a possible unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in New Sharon.

2/2/2016 Deputy Andrew Morgan responded to a car vs. deer accident on the Stanley Road in New Vineyard. The deer died at the scene, the car sustained reportable damage.

2/2/2016 Cpl. Hartley investigated a report of suspicious activity on Bailey Hill Road in New Sharon.

2/2/2016 Cpl. Brann responded to a residential alarm on Moe’s Cove Road in Industry. All was secure.

2/2/2016 Cpl. Brann responded to a complaint of trucks driving on posted roads in New Sharon.

2/3/2016 Cpl. Brann assisted a stranded motorist on the Vienna Road in Chesterville.

2/3/2016 Cpl. Brann investigated a complaint of suspicious activity on the Starks Road in New Sharon. The complainant believes someone tried to break into his house; there were tracks in the snow behind the house.

2/3/2016 Cpl. Hartley responded to a vehicle off the road on the Salem Road in Freeman Twp.

2/3/2016 Deputy Nicholas Zecher responded to a single vehicle accident on Storer Hill Road in Carthage where a Carthage town truck had struck a utility pole dropping the power lines. No injuries were reported.

2/3/2016 Cpl. Hartley responded to a single vehicle accident on Zion’s Hill Road in Chesterville.

2/3/2016 Deputy Lowe investigated a harassment complaint on the Pond Road in Strong.

2/3/2016 Cpl. Hartley responded to the White Elephant Store in Strong to remove a female from the establishment.

2/4/2016 Deputy Morgan responded to a residential alarm on Soper Road in Chesterville. All was secure.

2/4/2016 Deputy Morgan assisted a stranded motorist on the Lane Road in New Sharon.

2/4/2016 Deputy Zecher assisted a stranded motorist on the South Strong Road in Strong.

2/4/2016 Cpl. Brann investigated a stalking complaint on the Rangeley Road in Avon. The complainant stated that her ex-boyfriend has been texting her and making comments about her new boyfriend. Brann determined there was not enough evidence to press charges.

2/4/2016 Deputy Morgan investigated a stalking complaint on Zions Hill Road in Chesterville. The complainant stated that Wesley Adams has been texting her through several different phone numbers. Adams was arrested on a charge of domestic violence stalking and violation of conditions of release.

2/4/2016 Deputy Morgan investigated a report of suspicious activity at the Sandy River Farm Supply in New Sharon.

2/4/2016 Lt. David Rackliffe removed a female from the White Elephant Store in Strong; this was the second complaint on this person within 24 hours.

2/5/2016 Deputy Morgan investigated an accident which occurred at the intersection of Mile Hill Road and Route 2 in New Sharon. A vehicle traveling north on Mile Hill Road could not come to a stop at the intersection, slid through it and struck the side of a car traveling on Route 2. No injuries were reported.

2/5/2016 Deputy Morgan responded to a single vehicle accident on the Ridge Road in Chesterville; no injuries were reported.

2/5/2016 Cpl. Brann investigated a single vehicle accident on Route 2 in New Sharon near Gage Corner. No injuries were reported.

2/5/2016 Cpl. Brann assisted a motorist on Route 142 in Washington TWP who had lost control and slid off the road. No damage or injuries were reported.

2/5/2016 Deputy Morgan investigated a child custody complaint on Mile Hill Road in New Sharon. The complainant was upset that his daughter has decided to move in with her mother in Chesterville.

Deputies conducted 45 building checks during this time period, all were secure; deputies also conducted seven elder checks.
