FARMINGTON – A local man has been arrested and charged with having unlawful sexual contact with a juvenile.

Russell Hargreaves, 51, of Farmington, was arrested and charged with unlawful sexual contact, a Class B felony, after an investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.

Det. David St. Laurent arrested Hargreaves after conducting an investigation. The investigation began when a woman came forward and reported the alleged conduct which she says occurred in November 2003 in New Vineyard. Police say that the victim was below the age of consent at the time of the alleged offense.

Hargreaves was arrested Friday, March 6, and booked at the Franklin County Jail. He was released later that day on $250 cash bail. His next scheduled court appearance is April 24, although action by a grand jury could result in an earlier appearance.
