Western Maine Community Action’s will be continuing to accept applications for its Fuel Assistance Program until April 30.
People who have not applied since July 2008 could potentially participate. The program seeks to assist those who have been struggling to make ends meet this winter, as costs increase. Among other things WMCA considers when evaluating applications are questions such as:
Have you been struggling to make ends meet this winter with the cost of everything going up?
Is your heat included in the rent?
Do you have medical expenses (including medical and dental insurance, co-pays, prescriptions, dental, eyeglasses, etc) that you have paid in the previous 3 months?
