Annemarie Cecile Safford (1938-2008)

BANGOR – Annemarie Cecile Safford went to be with her heavenly father and loved ones, on July 8, 2008, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. 

She was born Dec. 2, 1938 in Frenchville, Maine, the daughter of Alfred and Blandine (Paradis) Cyr. Cecile was educated in the schools of Windham and married Durward Safford in Portland, Jan. 1, 1965, he died in 1997. She and her family lived in many different towns including, Portland, Strong, Phillips, Wilton, Newport, and most recently Dexter where she was a resident at Dexter Healthcare. 

She worked for Forsters Mfg. in Strong from 1973 to 1985, then at Franklin Shoe from 1987 until 1990. Cecile was a member of the East Wilton Grange and the Hope Rebecca Lodge in Phillips. She always attended church no matter where she lived, being involved with many different churches, her relationship with God was constant and close. She enjoyed crafts of all sorts, playing bingo, gardening, and attending family functions.
 
Survivors include four daughters Dorothy Petrie and her husband Ronald of Chester NH, Brenda Libery and her husband Rick of Jay, Marie Hinckley and her husband Darold of Avon, Neva Luce and her husband Ronald of Newport. A son Walter Safford and his wife Melissa of Idaho. Eleven grandchildren. Four great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Alfreda Pelletier, Helen Mohn, and Claudette Butt. Four brothers, Alfred Cyr, Roger Cyr, Jimmy McLellan, and Russel McLellan. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins, and the staff at Dexter Health Care. She is predeceased by her husband and her parents.
 
Visiting hours will be held Saturday July 12, 2008 from noon to 2 p.m. at Adams ~ McFarlane Funeral and Cremation Services 108 Court St. Farmington, ME with a memorial service immediately following at 2:00PM, with Rev. Barry Trask officiating. Interment will be at a latter date at Fairview cemetery in Farmington.
