Arthur Norton Tracy (1938-2008)

INDUSTRY – Arthur Norton Tracy, 69, of Industry, died at his home on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008.

He was born on Nov. 30, 1938 the son of Sherman and Ella (Osborne) Tracy. He was educated in the schools of Industry. Arthur married Elizabeth Crush on June 13, 1955 in Farmington. He worked in the woods for himself and others, cutting and hauling wood, before returning to his passion of trucking logs until his retirement in 1994 due to ill health.

Arthur enjoyed tinkering on vehicles, camping, hunting, fishine, his pets Blacky and Mr. Rooster, and watching the news and old westerns. He also loved to spoil his grandchildren.

Arthur is survived by his wife of 53 years Elizabeth; three daughters, Avis Brown and her husband Barry of Wilton, Bonita Hardy of New Sharon, Ina Cooper and her husband Bob of Industry; an adopted daughter Debbie Billings of Industry; two sons, Howard and Manley Tracy of Industry; 17 grandchildren Matthew, Michael, and Bethany Brown, Daniel, Joey, and Chris Tracy, Jennifer Hawkins, Jessica Roberts, Melissa Karkos, Kimberly Hardy, Niki and Nina Lake, T.T. Gonzales, Jamie and Makayla Tracy, Tina Dixon, and Thomas Whitehouse; 13 great grandchildren, Lucas, Braylee, Taz, Lilly, Koda, Audrea, Kaylee, Elijah, Austin, Gavin, Brandyn, Desirae, Iauna, and two on the way; his sister Martha Wing of Farmington; his brother Lewis Tracy of Starks; many nieces, nephew, and cousins including Guy, Holly, and Lori; and special friends Guy and Roberta Messenger.

He was predeased by his parents, a daughter Tina Elizabeth, a brother Sherman Tracy Jr., an adopted son Joe Billings, and a grandson Steven Gonzales.

Private family services will be held on Monday, Oct. 20, 2008 at Adams-McFarlane Funeral & Cremation Services, 108 Court St., Farmington with Rev. John Tolman officiating.
