Bradford D. Doyen (1941-2008)

FARMINGTON – Bradford D. Doyen, 67, of New Portland, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 13, 2008 at the Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington from a gangrenous gall bladder.

He was born in Rumford on Mar. 31, 1941, the son of Archie and Anna (Daigle) Doyen. He attended Mexico schools and graduated in 1959. Brad will be remembered by many people in many places. He was a gifted craftsman and artisan with Native American bead work and put his heart and soul into gathering and working free form wood into furniture sold at SugarWood Gallery in Farmington.

He wrote and sang wonderful music that brought so much joy to so many. His strong passion of political views were well known to all that knew him. He was very spiritual in a Native American way and was very connected to nature in how he lived and worked.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Kim Tierney of Cumberland; his two grandsons, Trevor and Luke of Cumberland; his sister, Shannon Cote of FL. He was predeceased by his parents and his step-mother, Clara.
