FARMINGTON – Carolyn Flagg Lake, 90, of Livermore, was called to her heavenly home, Wednesday morning, Feb. 3, 2021 at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

She was born on July 14, 1930, a daughter of Gerald and Marian Smith Flagg and attended Strong schools where she graduated in 1949 in a class of six students. She maintained relationships with her classmates throughout the years. She was introduced to Norman Clifford Lake by Earle and Claire Flagg. Norman and Carolyn married May 5, 1951 and they raised four children, Rockwood, Sandra, Duane, and Holly.

Norman and Carolyn enjoyed many friendships throughout central Maine as they moved frequently for Norman’s work. They returned to Livermore and purchased a poultry farm where Carolyn worked to help provide for the family. Carolyn’s greatest joy was her children and seeing them succeed in life. She enjoyed being a member of the Livermore Methodist Church and loved putting together floral bouquets for weekly suppers. She enjoyed working in the greenhouse at Berry Hill Agway in Farmington with her daughter, Sandra.

Carolyn was able to live at her home in Livermore until April of 2018 at which time she moved into the Pierce House in Farmington. She was happy at the Pierce House and it offered the special bonus of having her granddaughter, Carmen working there. The family would like to thank all the staff of the Pierce House, Franklin Memorial Hospital, and Sandy River Center for all the exceptional care given to their mother.

She is survived by her children: Rockwood “Rocky” Lake and his wife, Annette of Livermore, Sandra Wood and her husband, Raymond of New Sharon, Duane Lake and his wife, Jill of Livermore, and Holly Morris and her husband, Daniel of Livermore; grandchildren: Jodie Conway and her husband, Paul of Framingham, MA, Adam Lake and his wife, Kelly of North Jay, Carmen Burke and her husband, Larry of New Sharon, Steven Wood of New Sharon, Angela Lake and her fiancé Adam Samson of Livermore Falls, Amanda Hubbell and her husband, Chris of Auburn, Jake Richard and his wife, Angela of Livermore; 15 great grandchildren: Paul, Teddy, and Bridget Conway, Norman and Linda Lake, Taylor and Caitlin Burke, Hunter Wood, Gage Samson, Reis, Coby, and Connor Hubbell, Jacob and Piper Richard, and Sierra Mitchell.

She was predeceased by her husband, Norman; sister, Catherine; brother, Burchard and his wife, Dot; nephew, Gregory Flagg and his wife, Patty and their son, Jason; nephew, Rodney Flagg and special friends, Floyd and Phyllis Flagg.

Public graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, May 21, at 2 p.m. at the Strong Village Cemetery. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, those who desire consider memorial gifts in her memory to the Pierce House, 204 Main Street, Farmington.
