Dana A. Bullen (1942-2022)

NEW SHARON – Dana A. Bullen, 80, passed away on December 3, 2022, at Edgewood Rehab and Living Center in Farmington. He was born on March 5, 1942, in New Sharon, where he lived his entire life. He was the son of Arthur and Carolyn (LeBaron) Bullen. Dana was the husband of Janice Bullen and was married to her for over 60 years.

Donations in Dana’s memory may be sent to Care and Share Food Closet, PO Box 38, West Farmington, ME 04992.

In keeping with Dana’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington, ME 04938.

  2. Rest in peace dear friend and brother- So grateful to have been paired up as roommates at UMO back in 1960. Our two families have shared much. What a great day when you brought Jan to Orono. We will meet later, but we will have to keep eyes on those two girls we married . Love to Jan and to the whole Bullen Family.

  5. Mr. Bullen was an amazing Math teacher! He took us thru Calculus 2…I opted out of 3 in College! He was the best! My condolences to the entire family.♥️

    So sorry for your loss. Dana was a wonderful man. The Care and Share food closet will not be the same without him. He was so passionate about keeping it going well. Sending lots of hugs your way!

  8. Oh Jan, So many great memories. You had a great run together. Your friends from Wilton Academy Class of 1961 all join you in reflecting our thoughts as you and your family endure this passing. I especially remember escapades at the New Sharon Dump on Sunday afternoons.

  15. Dana was a wonderful person to work with and for at Mt. Blue Blue High School. His great sense of humor, caring approach to students, amazing intellect and a love for mathematics, all made for a good working environment where everyone wanted to please him. Always full of wisdom and willing to share it when asked, Dana taught me a lot about teaching. I am a better person for having known Dana. I send my heartfelt thoughts to all his family during this difficult time.

  16. Well cousin, this is the final goodbye. I think back to my being 5yrs old and you taking me to the movies at the State Theatre. Your patience and thoughtfulness was so very evident at your young age.

  17. I was one of Dana’s many students in senior math at Mt. Blue High School. He was an inspiring teacher and often thought of him over the years. He was also a member of one of the most illustrious classes ever to graduate from a high school in this part of Maine, the New Sharon High School Class of 1960. Of its 10 members seven were National Merit Scholars including Ged Brown, who went on to graduate near the top of his class at West Point and of course Dana Bullen himself.

  18. It has just come to my attention that Dana A Bullen, former faculty associate and one time student, has recently passed away. My condolences to Jan and their sons and families. It was a privilege to have known and worked with Dana. He has finally earned his time of rest.
