Herbert J. Parlin (1925-2008)

INDUSTRY – Herbert J. Parlin, 83, of Industry died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008 at his home.

He was born May 27, 1925 in Peru, Maine, the son of Wilbur and Fabiola (Beaucage) Parlin. He attended the schools of Farmington. On June 18, 1949 he married Mary Conway at St. Joseph’s Church in Farmington. Herbert served in the US Navy on the U.S.S. Noble in the Pacific Theater where he received two Bronze Stars. After WWII he workded at Rice Bros. Shipyard in Boothbay Harbor and at Pratt & Whitney in Conneticut. He worked many years at Farmington Shoe in many positions retiring as superintendent. He was a member of the Northern Lights Snowmobile Club, enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and trapping. In his retirement he drove cars back from auction for Jim Martin Subaru.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Mary, two sons Michael Parlin and his wife Diane of WA, David Parlin and his girlfriend Jane Farrington of Farmington, and two grandchildren Aaron and Adrian Parlin of WA. He was predeceased by his brother Donald.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 11 am with Father Chabot officiating at Adams~McFarlane Funeral & Cremation Services, 108 Court St., Farmington.
