James W. Hawksworth (1940-2008)

LIVERMORE FALLS – James W. Hawksworth, 68, of 12 Sandy Lane, Livermore Falls, died early Wednesday morning at his home.

He was born in Pemaquid, a son of Murray and Minetta Sanford Hawksworth and received his education in local schools. He worked as a truck driver for Crowe Rope and Dysart’s. Mr. Hawksworth was a veteran of the United States Army having served for 11 years and did two tours in Vietnam. He enjoyed collecting trucks and camping and was a member of the New Ipswich, MA American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnne (Kent) Hawksworth of Livermore Falls; 3 children, James, Sherry Ryan and her husband Sean, and Kyle, all of Newport, VT; 12 step-children; 5 grandchildren, Brianna, Breton, Harmon, Maggie Lynn, and Danny; a sister, Phyllis Herrick and a nephew, Murray Herrick both of Oxford; He was predeceased by a daughter, Ginger; a brother, Randolph; and three sisters, Mary, Lena, and Shirley.

Memorial services with military honors will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. at the home of his step-daughter, Susan Metzger, 13 Metzger Lane, Livermore Falls.
