He was born May 5, 1931 in Alliance, Ohio, the son of Admiral Dewey and Thelma Gertrude (Royer) Teter.

Robert grew up in Alliance, Ohio. He attended Bolton Grade School, and graduated from Alliance High School in 1950.

Bob learned to fish and play many musical instruments from his father when he was growing up. He would enjoy both of these through out his life. Bob could play the banjo, guitar, harmonica, and was especially fond of the accordion.

Bob’s family were Bible students, and enjoyed studying and learning what the Bible taught. They would attend conventions, and it was at such an occasion that he met his wife Irene Violet Hagerup. They were married on Aug. 23, 1958.

Bob was employed by Republic Steel Co. in Canton Ohio. He was a skilled welder, and iron worker. He was very mechanically inclined.

Bob and Irene traveled and lived in many states, including Arizona, California, and Alaska. They moved to Maine in 1981, to the Stanley Hill Road in Vassalboro, where Bob was employed at North Vassalboro Window Company. They later moved to Brayley Ave. in Shawmut.

Bob’s joy of playing music with his wife Irene singing along was enjoyed by many of his friends and family. He was a truly talented man.

Bob was an active member of the Fairfield Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Bob’s passion for his faith was evident throughout his life. He showed a great concern for the spirituality of his many nieces and nephews, as well as his friends and the people who cared for Irene and himself. Bob loved sharing his faith with anyone he would meet with hopes of helping them come to a better understanding of the bible and its teachings.

Bob was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Irene V. Teter who passed away Oct 1 2012, and two sisters, Nola Kendrick and Monna Mozzockl, both of Louisville, Ohio.
