Having problems with your Windjammer Cable TV?

A message from Rep. Tom Saviello, District 90

Are you having problems with your cable TV? Is the reception bad? Is the billing all messed up? Are the stations not coming in as advertised? Well, maybe I can help, but it will take time and your attention to the matter.

Last week I was invited by Ron Mitchell of Temple to a selectmen’s meeting to discuss issues related to Windjammer Cable TV. (Windjammer is the cable franchise owner in Temple, replacing Time Warner.)

Windjammer apparently purchased the cable franchise from Time Warner. The service provider frankly “STINKS.” Reception is terrible; billing is all messed up; sound and picture does not work; stations do not come in; and cancellation notices have been received. I told Ron and the others at the meeting I would see what I could do.

The next day I checked and found cable TV is not regulated in the state (Interesting, we seem to regulate everything else!).

The Public Utilities Commission has no jurisdiction over cable providers. I found the only way to address the issue is to work with the Attorney Generals (AGs).

So… I need your complaints in a written form. Once I have those I can refer them to the attorney general for action. There is a form you can use and it can be obtained at this internet site http://www.maine.gov/ag/dynld/documents/Final_Consumer_Complaint_PDF.pdf or will be available at the Temple Town office. Once completed mail to JAMES A. MCKENNA, Assistant Attorney General, Office of the Attorney General, State House Station #6, Augusta, Maine 04333-0006, Tel: (207) 626-8842, Fax: (207) 626-8812, or E-mail: jim.mckenna@maine.gov

Call me at 645-3420 or e-mail me at drtom16@hotmail.com and I will get you a copy of the form if need be. Complete the form and send it back to me at 60 Applegate Lane, Wilton, Maine 04294. I will get them to the AG so action can be taken. This will take time – but it is the only way to fix the problem.

If you have any questions about this or anything else call me or e-mail me. As always it is my pleasure to serve the people of District 90.
