Letter to the Editor: Community garden planned in Avon

1 min read

As times get tight and money becomes harder to come by, self sufficiency becomes more and more valuable.

Are any of you closet gardeners or want to become gardeners? Are they prevented from doing so because they live in an apartment or in a trailer with no land available? Or perhaps because they have no way of turning their land? Or perhaps they just don’t know anything about gardening? Perhaps, if they live in Avon or fairly close by there is a way…

A collective garden is being planned to be located in Avon that will have room for as many as 16 plots. If you are interested in participating contact (Mr.) Lauri Sibulkin at 639-3033 as soon as possible to discuss the project. The way it is being created will require very little, perhaps no money up front, with a modest donation to the local food bank as the fee for participation. This is really hard work, but the fresh food is well worth the effort.

You need to contact me right away, as the autumn is passing and I need to know how many families want plots to ensure I till up the right amount of land.

Sincerely,
Lauri Sibulkin
Avon/Phillips
