Letter to the Editor: Mallett School PTA

2 mins read

We at Mallett School wish to thank the incredible support system we have in the Mallett PTA – particularly the ‘P’ for parents.

On Oct. 1, the Mallett School PTA hosted the first ‘Harvest Supper’ fundraiser, which is a family dinner accompanied by a farmers’ market. It was a rainy evening and the farmers had to set up inside, but the sense of community was not dampened in the least. There was a great mix of terrific food, fun, good conversation and some new faces. This event was another in a long series of ‘wonders’ performed by the Mallett PTA.

Mallett students and staff benefit in so many ways from the seemingly endless energy and creativity of our PTA. It’s clear that the success of the dinner was due to an enormous amount of time invested in phone calling, organizing donations, baking and preparing the dining area.  The large turnout was a testament to the well-oiled communication network of our PTA.

As of Friday, the PTA had wrapped up the fall fundraiser; a fundraising catalog focused entirely on local merchants and their goods. In the works are special events planned by the PTA “Arts Sub-committee.” The PTA also maintains a technology sub-committee that is responsible for a number of tech tools that have enhanced student learning and broadened the possibilities.

It’s difficult to give kudos to specific individuals, as there are some who work much more behind the scenes and some very out front. There are also people who are instrumental to one particular project or other. The Mallett PTA as a whole, just somehow makes a lot of our wishes come true. PTA parents, you are an amazing group. We couldn’t do it without you! Thank you, thank you, and thank you, Mallett PTA!

With gratitude,
The W.G. Mallett School Staff
