Letter to the Editor: Remembering Steve

1 min read

Sadly, Franklin County lost a good friend late Monday night. For those of us who spent time with Steve (Weiner), we have many memories full of laughter and language, some of which I can’t repeat.

Breakfast will not ever be the same again.

For those that just went in to pay taxes or register a vehicle in Avon, it was a unforgettable moment I’m sure. I hope that all those who ever met Steve will keep a little piece of him within themselves.

Behind his gruff exterior was a very kind man with a bigger heart. He was more deeply involved in this community than most knew and it was greatly appreciated especially by the Phillips Fire Department.

He will be deeply missed.

Rest in peace Steve.

  1. Thank you Jane for your wonderful comments of Steve Weiner. The towns of Avon and Phillips have lost so very much with his passing. When Phillips was in a turmoil Steve was there. What would we have done without him? He has done so much for so many people and did it without fanfare. His gruff nature was such a farce. He was a gentle sweet man. My thoughts and prayers go to his wife Nancy and their family. Steve will be missed by so many but may we all remember what good he did for everyone.

Yes, Jane, may Steve rest in peace.
