I want to take a moment and thank the American Legion for their efforts in providing aid packages to our local troops serving overseas. The American Legion contacts families of military members serving overseas and sends care packages to them. They are especially active during the Christmas months.
Having served overseas in the Air Force I know what packages from home can mean, and I wasn’t even serving in a combat area like Iraq or Afghanastan. I can’t describe the joy that our men and women serving in these areas feel when they are remembered by folks from the home front.
