Letter to the Editor: Voting for Haszko

2 mins read

I will be voting for Dennis Haszko in the upcoming election to fill the House seat for Farmington-Industry. I will be doing so because I believe our communities will be better served by a representative who will not get caught up in the fruitless arguments between “less government” and “more government.” In the process of such arguments “good government” and “smart government” get overlooked.

I’m voting for Dennis Haszko because he is committed to state government that serves all the people of the state of Maine, and that serves us skillfully, intelligently and compassionately. I’m voting for Dennis Haszko because he is not only dedicated to the betterment of the quality of life for Boy Scouts, but also for the quality of education for all students in the public schools and universities of Maine. I’m voting for Dennis Haszko because he will not only work to preserve the forests, streams and wildlife for Maine sportsmen, but he will also work non-ideologically and practically to foster an economic and tax climate that encourages small business and innovative enterprise, thereby reducing the necessity to sell our natural resources cheap for a mess of exploitive and development pottage.

I am tired of the partisan bickering that focuses on what is wrong with the other party’s proposals. I am looking for a representative who will work with representatives of both parties to do what is best for all the people and for the whole state of Maine. In my experience and in my reading of his qualifications and proposals, Dennis Haszko is the candidate best qualified to serve Farmington-Industry here and in Augusta.
