Nordica Day Concert
Online event at: www.artsfarmington.orgPerforming in this year’s Nordica Day Concert will be Kaleigh Hunter and Emma Jones, winners of last year’s Nordica Scholarship. They will be live-streamed from Nordica Auditorium on August 17 at 7:30. August 17 was the date in 1911 when world-famous opera diva and Farmington native, Lillian Nordica, performed in her hometown.The direct link to the live-streamed performance can be accessed on mtbluetv.org or artsfarmington.org. There is no charge, as it is a gift to the community from the Nordica Memorial Association. The video can also be viewed after August 27 on the above Mt. Blue TV and ArtsFarmington websites.

An Evening of Poetry by outgoing and incoming Maine Poets Laureate

This event is presented by ArtsFarmington in collaboration with the UMF English Department. Fee is $10, free under 18 and for UMF students. Masks and vaccination are required. MMCM founders Yuri Funahashi, piano, and Laurie Kennedy, viola, will be joined by violinist Charles Dimmick and cellist Leo Eguchi. The program consists of Zoltan Kodaly’s Duo for Violin and Cello and Gabriel Fauré’s Piano Quartet in C minor. Adult tickets are $15, those 18 and under are free as are UMF students with ID.
