The Maine Event
Farmington Public Library 117 Academy Street, Farmington, ME, United StatesCome to the Farmington Public Library for a fun, Maine-themed evening! Live music will be performed by Brent Laflin, Maine-themed snacks and drinks will be available, and there will be a silent auction for select Stanley Keirstead paintings. Bids can be placed online before the event, but the last day to bid will be in-person at the event.
Banking Presentation
Farmington Public Library 117 Academy Street, Farmington, ME, United StatesJoin Kendra Wheeler from Bangor Savings Bank in a virtual lesson on banking in 2021 at the Farmington Public Library. Topics include the benefits of online banking, mobile banking, identity theft protection, travel safety, and increasing confidence online. The library will provide space, computers, and staff assistance for the interactive parts of the presentation. Call the library to reserve a computer at 778-4312. For those who want to join in from home, a Zoom link will be posted on the library's Facebook page and website the day of the event.

Annual Corporator’s Meeting Farmington Public Library
April 14h, 6:00-6:30 will be the Farmington Public Library's Annual Corporator's meeting. The public is invited to come to the library to hear the annual report, vote on bylaw changes, elect new and returning board members, ask questions, and offer suggestions. Earth Day Volunteer Cleanup
Downtown Farmington Array, Farmington, ArrayThe 9th annual Farmington Earth Day Volunteer Cleanup is being held on Friday April 22nd from 1-3PM. Everyone is welcome to participate: individuals, groups, young and old. Meet at the Pierce House lawn on 204 Main Street anytime between 1 and 3pm. Cleanup for as long as you want. Bags and gloves are provided by the Farmington Public Works Department. Pop-UP Sales at the Farmington Public Library
Farmington Public Library 117 Academy Street, Farmington, ME, United StatesSaturdays in May 10:30-1:30, artisans will be selling their wares, and the library will be selling plants. All proceeds from the plants benefit the library and a portion of the arts and crafts sold will benefit the library. These events will be May 7, 14, and 21.
Rilke’s Sonnets to Orpheus: A Centenary Celebration
Farmington Public Library 117 Academy Street, Farmington, ME, United StatesExactly a century ago, Rainer Maria Rilke created the fifty-five Sonnets to Orpheus within one month in what he called a "hurricane" of creativity. Farmington author, translator, Teacher, and community activist John Rosenwald will present and discuss his translations of Rilke's sonnets, recently published by covered bridge press.

Climate Policy Workshop With Peter Dugas

According to Dugas, "This engaging interactive workshop will use MIT's EN-ROADS Climate Simulator to explore the climate provisions of the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act, explore next steps in creating effective and equitable solutions, and discuss what we in Maine can do to ensure a safe and livable future." Meditation Workshop
Farmington Public Library 117 Academy Street, Farmington, ME, United StatesAll levels welcome to join in an introductory exploration of different practices meant to augment focus, awareness, and introspection. This introduction to meditation will involve both implementation and reflective discussion of various contemplative techniques, including breath meditation, body scan, somatic orientation, energy center meditation, and walking meditation. This event is free and open to the public at the Farmington Public Library.
