The Farmington Public Library will be holding two summer book sales, one July 15th from 1pm-6pm and the other on August 12th from 12pm-5pm. We will have library book bags available for sale as well. Come to the library and find some fun books to read this summer!

Climate Policy Workshop With Peter Dugas

Please join us at the Farmington Public Library on Tuesday, September 13th, at 5pm for a Climate Policy Workshop presented by Peter Dugas. According to Dugas, "This engaging interactive workshop will use MIT's EN-ROADS Climate Simulator to explore the climate provisions of the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act, explore next steps in creating effective and equitable solutions, and discuss what we in Maine can do to ensure a safe and livable future." Meditation Workshop

All levels welcome to join in an introductory exploration of different practices meant to augment focus, awareness, and introspection. This introduction to meditation will involve both implementation and reflective discussion of various contemplative techniques, including breath meditation, body scan, somatic orientation, energy center meditation, and walking meditation. This event is free and open to the public at the Farmington Public Library.

This book is based on the true story of four women who go on a cross country road trip from San Francisco to Washington D.C. to fight for an amendment to the Constitution that would give women the right to vote.

Join us at the Farmington Public Library and listen to local author Sarah Carlson discuss and read from her new book, Tender Light Softens, as well as one of her earlier volumes In the Currents of Quiet. Carlson will talk about how movement in the outdoor world and writing became part of her process for healing - paving the way from despair to hope and awareness of the present moment, whatever it contains. The presentation will include stories of how this feeling has permeated her life as a teacher, mother, and all around human. Select pieces will be read alongside a slideshow

The Farmington Public Library Annual Plant Sale will be held on Saturday, May 6th, from 10-12. Come support the library and take home a few plants! Donations of plants and seedlings of all kinds are greatly appreciated, they can be dropped off at the library the week before starting on May 2nd. We look forward to seeing you all there!
