FARMINGTON – Titcomb Mountain has announced a new, innovative partnership with Maine’s two largest ski resorts, Sugarloaf and Sunday River. Together, the three resorts are providing beginner skiers with a new Maine Learn to Ski and Ride Card that packages a lesson and three days of lift tickets and rentals into one pre-loaded card.

The $89 Maine Learn to Ski and Ride Card can be purchased at Titcomb Mountain and will provide three days of skiing or riding as follows:

Day 1: Ticket, rental, and lesson at Titcomb Mountain
Day 2: Ticket and rental at Titcomb Mountain
Day 3: Ticket and rental at either Sugarloaf or Sunday River.

“The Maine Learn to Ski and Ride Card is a unique opportunity for us,” said Karleen Andrews, manager, Titcomb Mountain. “This is the first time we have ever partnered with Sugarloaf or Sunday River on a package program, and to be able to work together to offer guests the chance to ski and snowboard at three wonderful Maine ski areas is very exciting.”

Titcomb Mountain features a 750-foot slope with 16 alpine trails for all skill levels, from beginner to expert, including a terrain park for skiers and riders. The alpine area also offers a great beginner trail with a handle tow and a gentle slope as well as snowmaking that covers 70 percent of the ski area’s trails also used for night skiing on Wednesday and Saturday nights.

“The Maine Learn to Ski and Ride Card is an easy way for families in Maine to enter into the sports of skiing or snowboarding,” said Brad Larsen, director of sales and marketing for Sugarloaf. “The card allows for families to experience the convenience of skiing at Titcomb Mountain and then explore one of the East’s largest ski areas at either Sugarloaf or Sunday River.”

Greg Sweetser, the executive director of the Ski Maine Association added, “This program is another example of the cooperation the Maine ski industry has demonstrated between the larger destination resorts and the local community areas. The multi-step approach makes this a great program for people looking to learn to ski or snowboard. Like in any sport, it takes time to be comfortable on the slopes.”

The Maine Learn to Ski and Ride Card will be sold at Titcomb Mountain’s lodge during operating hours from 3-6 pm Mondays through Fridays, 9-8 pm on Saturdays and 9-4 pm on Sundays. Advance reservations will be required for the first day, ski or snowboard lesson portion of the card. Lessons will only be available on Saturdays, Sundays and during vacation weeks.

The Learn to Ski and Ride Card Program will also be available this winter at the Camden Snow Bowl in Camden, and Lost Valley in Auburn.
