Alpine skiing in action at Titcomb, New Hermon

FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington men’s and women’s Alpine skiing teams competed in Reynolds Division slalom racing at Titcomb and New Hermon mountains over the weekend.

On Friday in night racing on Titcomb, the Farmington men and women both earned ties for first place with Bates College ‘B’ with the University of Maine placing third.

Bates’ Kerry Gross was the top female with Farmington’s Calle McCartney (Bow, NH) finishing second.

Tyler Dorris of Maine won the men’s competition with the Beavers’ Jon Dennett (Winthrop, ME) following behind.

On Monday in Hermon, the Farmington men were victorious with Maine and Bates ‘B’ placing second and third, respectively, while the Maine women ended up first followed by the Beavers and Bates.

Again on the women’s side, Gross held off McCartney, while, on the men’s side, the Farmington duo of Nathan Dumais (Turner, ME) and Kendall Ricker (Turner, ME) placed 1-2.

The Farmington men’s and women’s Nordic squads were also in action on Monday in Orono, but results are not available.
