POULTNEY, VT – After overcoming a quick 1-0 deficit, the host Eagles fought back to a 2-1 lead, only to see it slip away in a North Atlantic Conference game full of momentum shifts versus the University of Maine at Farmington Beavers.

Junior Melissa St. Amand (Windsor, ME) started the Beavers off quickly with an unassisted goal just four minutes into the match.  The host Eagles answered back led by a pair of goals by freshman Taylor Riso (Portland, OR).  Riso’s first goal, assisted by senior Monique Couture (Santa Barbara, CA), came half-way through the first half to tie the game at 1-1.  Riso’s second goal (and sixth of the season) came off the foot of fellow freshman Emily Heale (East Bethany, NY).

The visiting Beavers battled back with an Amber Murphy (Manchester, NH) goal, assisted by Julie Walters (Wells, ME), with just over ten minutes to play.

With less than four minutes remaining, Walters capitalized off a deflected ball in front of the Green Mountain net to seal the victory for the University of Maine at Farmington.

University of Maine at Farmington goalkeeper Mckell Barnes (Durham, ME) had five saves on the day, while GMC freshman goalkeeper Karen Davidson (Seymour, CT) had 22.
