FARMINGTON, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington field hockey team dropped to 0-3 with a 2-0 loss to Endicott College this afternoon.

Cara Hanrahan (Franklin, TN) and Caitlin Keating (York, ME) each scored in the opening half for the 2-0 advantage for the Gulls (4-1). Hanrahan knocked in a bid by Lindsey Mills (Arlington, MA) at 22:49, while Keating followed with an unassisted tally at 31:51.

Chelsea DeFeo (York, ME) made the lead stick as the Endicott netminder recorded six saves in the shutout. The Beavers’ best stand came early in the second half as Elyse Cole (Winthrop, ME) and Andrea Tyler (Augusta, ME) each had close-range bids thwarted by DeFeo in a short span.

Kaeleigh Barker (Chichester, NH) stopped nine shots in the loss, including a four-shot barrage by Endicott’s Alexandra Parese (Wilton, CT) that preceded Endicott’s first score. Samantha Webster (Dixfield, ME) made a defensive save in the second half to keep the game within reach.

The Beavers are scheduled to return to action a week from today when they play host to the University of Southern Maine. The Gulls are slated to visit Anna Maria on Saturday.
