RANKED NO. 2: Seniors Jamie Sawyer, at right and Ben Russell return this season to lead the Mt. Blue High School boys’ basketball. A preseason vote of Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference coaches picked the Cougars as the No. 2 team in the Class A league. Mt. Blue finished 13-7 last season losing to Bangor in the Eastern Maine Class A semifinals. The Cougars will host Jay in a scrimmage game Friday night at 7 p.m.
