Men’s soccer downed by Lyndon State

FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington men’s soccer team fell to Lyndon State College 2-0 in North Atlantic Conference competition Sunday at Prescott Field.

Matthew Dennett (Augusta, ME) registered eight saves for Farmington, which dropped to 4-6 overall and 3-2 in the NAC with the University of Southern Maine at home on Wednesday. Lyndon State (6-6, 1-4) earned its first conference victory with the win.

Chris Cowan (Averill Park, NY) knocked in a pass by Darren Roberge (Sheldon, VT) at 30:02 to give the Hornets a 1-0 edge. Roberge cashed in a corner kick with just over six minutes lift to play to seal the victory.

Ian Oliver (Westport, MA) stopped four shots for Lyndon State, which held a 16-10 advantage in shots.
