Barker receives NAC recognition

FARMINGTON University of Maine at Farmington senior goalkeeper Kaeleigh Barker (Chichester, NH) was named the North Atlantic Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week as announced by the conference today.

Barker earned a pair of wins in the Beavers’ 2-0 week. The senior netminder made seven saves in a 2-1 win over NAC foe Husson on Saturday and stopped eight shots in a 3-1 victory over in-state rival Southern Maine on Wednesday.

The Beavers (2-3) are scheduled to return Wednesday when they play host to Thomas College at 4 p.m.

Betts honored as NAC Runner of the Week

FARMINGTON – University of Maine at Farmington freshman Cam Betts (Gray, ME) was named the North Atlantic Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner as announced by the conference today.

Betts finished 117th at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational Saturday to lead the Beavers. Betts toured the five-mile course in 27:32 – a top 10 time in school history for the distance.

Last week, Betts was recognized as the NAC Rookie of the Week.

The Beavers are off this weekend and scheduled to return to action Oct. 4 when they host the UMF Invitational.

St. Pierre repeats as NAC Rookie of the Week

FARMINGTON – University of Maine at Farmington freshman Melani St. Pierre (Charlestown, NH) was named the North Atlantic Conference Women’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference today.

St. Pierre also won the honors last week.

St. Pierre paced the Beavers with an 88th-place finish at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational. St. Pierre finished with a time of 19:58 on the 5K course.

The Beavers are off this weekend and scheduled to return to action Oct. 4 when they host the UMF Invitational.

Pelletier collects NAC accolades

FARMINGTON – University of Maine at Farmington junior midfielder Ryan Pelletier (Orrington, ME) was named the North Atlantic Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week as announced by the conference today.

Pelletier led the Beavers to a 3-1 win over NAC foe Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday. The junior midfielder had a hand in all three scores for Farmington with a goal and two assists.

The Beavers (2-2) are scheduled to return Tuesday when they play host to St. Joseph’s College at 4 p.m.
