FARMINGTON – Alyssa St. Pierre (Jay, ME) scored with 4:49 left in regulation to lift the University of Maine at Farmington to a 2-1 win over North Atlantic Conference foe Husson University today.

The Beavers improved to 2-3 and are scheduled to host Thomas College Wednesday. The Eagles fell to 0-3 with a trip to Colby College scheduled for Monday.

On the winning goal, Elyse Cole (Winthrop, ME) pushed the ball upfield and sent St. Pierre in against Husson netminder Kara Voisine (Corinth, ME). After an initial stall by the keeper, St. Pierre knocked the ball ahead and into the goal.

Prior to St. Pierre’s game-winner, the contest appeared bound for overtime as it was an evenly-matched affair with Husson holding a 10-9 edge in shots. Farmington scored first with Samantha Kenison (Gorham, NH) knocking in a blast right in front of the net by Emma Deans (Gorham, ME) off a penalty corner five minutes before half. The Eagles were issued a penalty corner as time expired in the first and Elisha Dorso (Farmingdale, ME) cashed in to knot the contest at 1-1.

Kaeleigh Barker (Chichester, NH) registered seven saves for Farmington.

Voisine finished with three stops for the Eagles.
