Tyler honored as NAC Player of the Week

FARMINGTON – University of Maine at Farmington senior forward Andrea Tyler (Augusta, ME) was named the North Atlantic Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week as announced by the conference today.

Tyler netted a pair of goals in the Beavers’ 2-0 win over St. Joseph’s in NAC action on Saturday. Tyler spearheaded an offense that outshot the Monks 21-12. She is the third straight Beaver to receive the award as sophomore midfielder Emma Deans (Gorham, ME) and senior netminder Kaeleigh Barker (Chichester, NH) were honored the past two weeks.

The Beavers (6-4) are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Brunswick to face defending NCAA Division III champ Bowdoin College

Hansen receives NAC accolades

FARMINGTON – University of Maine at Farmington freshman outside hitter Lindsay Hansen (Gorham, ME) was named the North Atlantic Conference Women’s Volleyball Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference today.

Hansen helped the Beavers to three NAC victories with 14 kills and five errors in 39 attempts (.256), 28 assists, 25 digs and a block. She is the second Beaver to receive NAC weekly rookie honors as Shannon Mitchell (Portsmouth, NH) received the award last week.

Farmington (5-7) is scheduled to return to action on Friday and Saturday when the Beavers host Thomas College, Worcester State College and Massachusetts Maritime Academy in the UMF Invitational.

Waltz earns NAC Rookie of the Week

FARMINGTON – University of Maine at Farmington freshman Nick Waltz (Damariscotta, ME) was named the North Atlantic Conference Golf Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference today.

Waltz fired an 81 at the USM Fall Classic and teamed with Douglas Jennings (Hallowell, ME) for a two-man 73 at the USM Fall Cup.

The Beavers are scheduled to return to action this weekend at the North Atlantic Conference Championships at Rutland Country Club.
