JAY – Police have released the identity of the woman who was struck by a dump truck at the Verso paper mill this morning.
At 10 a.m., Tina Dolloff, 37, of Jay, an employee of SW&B was walking when she was struck by a 1997 Ford dump truck owned by Verso Paper and operated by Verso employee Paul Despres, 50, of Jay, said Jay Police Chief Larry White, Sr.
Despres was turning to the right to be able to back up beside another dump truck when the truck struck Dolloff. Dolloff suffered injuries to her left foot and leg and hip. Dolloff was transported by NorthStar emergency ambulance services to the Verso paper parking lot where she was then transported by LifeFlight to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
“She was conscious and talking with paramedics,” Peggy Willihan, a spokeswoman at Verso’s Androscoggin Mill said of the woman’s condition. Sgt. Troy Young and Det. Drew Hufnagel of the Jay Police Department responded to the accident that occurred on Verso Paper property.
A spokesman at CMMC said information about Dolloff’s condition isn’t available yet.
