NEW SHARON – Last Saturday’s sunshine could not have been any more perfect for the golfers and bidders at LEAP’s 8th Annual Golf Benefit & Silent Auction held at Sandy River Golf Club.

LEAP is a Farmington-based nonprofit, actively supporting adults with developmental disabilities in western and central Maine communities for more than 33 years. They are thankful for the many relationships built with the neighbors and local businesses that believe in and partner with their mission, via regular donations and event sponsorships.

LEAP’s focus is hope, wellness and joy, and many players also shared this mindset on the green. Wellness includes the emotional richness of friendships among all the people in our towns, and hope and joy are even sometimes evident during a good putt.

This year’s longest drive winner for women is Adrienne Rollo, who also won the closest to the hole challenge. The men’s longest drive winner is Trevor Olivadoti, with Darryl P. Wood winning both putting and chipping contests. Dave Duley, Steve West and Mike Viles were the LEAP Cup champions, with Dave and Steve on their third consecutive championship team!

The time is always now to get involved in weaving community threads, and if you would like to learn more and support our mission, please visit www.leapcommunity.org.
