Update: Jazz Band benefit dinner postponed to Feb. 1

FARMINGTON – The Jazz Band Benefit dinner scheduled for tonight at the Homestead Restaurant will be postponed until next Monday night, Feb 1.

Karen Beacham, clarinetist, is band director and teacher of music theory and instrumental music at Maine School Administrative District No. 9. She serves as Principal Clarinet with Maine Chamber Ensemble, Maine State Ballet Orchestra, Atlantic Chamber Orchestra, and Portland Ballet Orchestra. Ms. Beacham also performs with the Portland Symphony Orchestra and is a founding member of the Nordica Trio.

Diners at the Jazz Band benefit dinner being held at the Homestead Restaurant in downtown Farmington will get the chance to hear her perform with her students. A Pasta Buffet will be served with bread and salad. The evening will open with a performance by students and music will be provided throughout the entire meal. Seating is limited. Call The Homestead 778-6162 for reservations. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for Mt. Blue Regional School District students. Proceeds with be used to help fund the Jazz Band’s upcoming trip to New York City to perform at the Musical Heritage Festivals.
