KINGFIELD – Mark your calendars for January 6, the first Friday of the New Year, for Kingfield’s next First Friday Artwalk. Snow, holiday lights, art, music, and Kendrick Charles driving his horse-drawn sleigh, should make a memorable evening for art-walkers! All galleries will be open from 5PM to 8PM providing snacks, refreshments, poetry, music, and plenty of local art. As always, Kingfield’s First Friday Artwalk is open to the public, free of charge. Please join us and enjoy a tour of the galleries, museums, and artist’s studios this Friday in the center of Kingfield!

Many new artists from neighboring towns join our exhibits this month, along with Kingfield’s own artists and craftsmen. Exquisite oil paintings by Waterville plein-air artist Matthew Russ will be featured at the Schoolhouse Gallery and CSM Real Estate Artworks will display paintings by New Sharon resident and Upcountry Artists board member Mary Beth Morrison. Home-schooled students, working with clay artist KC Campell, will show their ceramic plates at the Sugarloaf Ski Shop. The Farm Cottage Gallery at the Mountain Village Farm B&B will feature the work of three local artists: paintings by Nora West, knit hats by Abagail Madden, and block prints by RJ Gray Jr. The new Western Maine Artist Collective, based at the Reinholt Gallery, features work from 27 Maine artists and craftsmen, including paintings by Sitaji Devi and Lily Gacki. Once again, The Stadler Gallery will display paintings by Ulrike Stadler, Scentsations will exhibit local artists, and The Herbert Hotel will feature Saskia Reinholt’s paintings of the local landscape. Fascinating exhibits of the area’s history and people at the Stanley Museum and Ski Museum of Maine provide art walkers with more chances to explore the town of Kingfield.

Come enjoy the festivities on January 6th, take in local art, spend time with your neighbors, and meet new friends at the Kingfield First Friday Artwalk! Look for the red flags outside participating venues.
