FARMINGTON – The Mt. Blue High School music department is pleased to announce and introduce the new singers in the Syncopations. The Syncopations is an 13-member auditioned women’s ensemble who have, in the past sung in Carnegie Hall, London, England and most recently won the top choral award at the Heritage Music Festival in Montreal, Quebec. They have performed concerts locally an around the state.
This year’s singers are: Alex Allen, Alexaiya Backman, Rosie Cohen, Megan Collins, Kerri Cooper, Laurel Fraley, Emily Kerr, Paige Kincaid, Carolyn Poliquin, Katie Rice, Hannah Senecal, Marissa Swain, Miranda Voter. Accompanist for the Syncopations is local musician, Patricia Hayden.
This year’s ensemble is preparing music of the “girl groups” from the 1920s through the 1950s in addition to a classical repertoire. To contact the group for singing engagements, please call the director, Carol Shumway, at the Mt. Blue High School (778-3561).
