Irish Soprano Emma Kate Tobia is a classically trained singer who melds her pure lyrical voice with the timeless melodies of her Irish heritage. She is a multiple award winning artist who has a love for Irish Song  which is reflected in her US Debut CD, ‘Aisling na nGael’ (An Irish Dream).  The cd is an expression of that love and a unique combination of Classical and Traditional songs.  Initially embraced by the New York Irish American community, Emma-Kate is currently breaking out nationally with her cd, which is getting radio airplay across the country.  Emma Kate’s cd has been reviewed in national publications and she toured the east coast in December 2009 as the soloist in a 19-day tour of “A Classic Irish Christmas.”

Emma Kate will be performing ‘An Irish Dream’ in the US at venues in NY, Maine and Rhode Island in March.  The songs on this album are normally sung in the sean-nos or acapella style with little or no accompaniment but here are presented in rich orchestral arrangements with violin and piano and some sung in the Irish language. Songs such as Róisín Dubh the Coolin, Fill Fill, a Rún Ó, Spanish Lady, and Carraigdhoun make up this fresh collection that will appeal to both classical and traditional music lovers.  In her shows Emma Kate will also be singing favorites such as Danny Boy and Kerry Dances; this will be a performance of Celtic songs to lift your spirits.

And Emma Kate will be making appearances at events surrounding the NY St. Patrick’s Day Parade -highlights include the ringing of the bell at the Stock Exchange on March 16th, performing at events for the Parade Grand Marshall, NY Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, and she will be featured on NBC TV during the Parade with a new music video.

Emma-Kate will be accompanied by violinist and Dublin native, Gregory Harrington who has performed throughout the world as a soloist in venues ranging from Carnegie Hall & Avery Fisher Hall in New York and as far as New Zealand. His debut CD “Reflections” received critical acclaim in the press with comparisons made to legendary violinist Ithzak Perlman in Newsweek Magazine.  Emma-Kate will also be accompanied by Isabelle O’Connell one of Ireland’s most successful pianists with an international career that has taken her across four continents; the recipient of multiple awards, she was the second Irish pianist ever to perform at Carnegie Hall.
