18th Annual Home and Leisure Show taking place May 19

The 17th Home & Leisure Show held last year at the Farmington Fairgrounds had a good turnout on a rainy Saturday. This year's show is Saturday.

FARMINGTON- The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce will host its 18th annual Home and Leisure Show at the Farmington Fairgrounds on Saturday, May 19 from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Admission is free via the Maple Avenue entrance.

More than 50 spaces have been reserved for a diverse variety of businesses, including car dealers, banks, educational institutions, building suppliers, media, health care, the Franklin County Animal Shelter, realtors, and more plan attend. Lots of free giveaways will be available for attendees.

The Healthy Community Coalition mobile health unit will also be onsite providing free body composition analysis using its new state-of-the art InBody720 body composition analyzer. The screening takes just five minutes and provides information on the percentage of fat to muscle, whether one has enough muscle for his or her weight, and overall wellness. According to staff the new service has been very much in demand.

“We are pleased to again be hosting this signature event at the Farmington Fairgrounds. Last year, it proved to be a fantastic venue offering plenty of space and flexibility for our vendors,” said Glenn Kapiloff, Franklin County board member and committee chair for the event. “This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase one’s business.”

Kapiloff added that special thanks go out to the event’s partners. They include: platinum partners: WKTJ, Franklin Savings Bank, and Turner Publishing; and gold partners: Daily Bulldog, Camden National Bank, Hammond Lumber, Morning Sentinel, Sun Journal, Irregular, Franklin Journal, Walmart, and Down East Energy.

On hand that day, in addition to the vendors, will be WKTJ 99.3 FM doing a live remote. The Emblem Club will provide food and refreshments and local songwriter and singer James Rossi along with Abram Audio will be organizing open mic and karaoke entertainment. A silent auction and demonstrations are scheduled throughout the day including the Franklin County Cloggers.
