FCHN Appoints Wayne Bennett as Chief Financial Officer

FARMINGTON – Wayne Bennett has been appointed chief financial officer (CFO) at Franklin Community Health Network (FCHN) and Franklin Memorial Hospital according to President/CEO Rebecca Ryder. Bennett replaces Eric Martinsen, current CFO at FCHN, who will retire on Dec. 31.

In his new position, Bennett will be responsible for the management of the network’s financial activities, such as receipt of revenues, expenditures of funds, and conservation of hospital assets. He will begin his new position on Jan. 3.

Bennett will serve as a member of the senior management team, assisting with the development of key strategies to assure the overall future financial health and well-being of the organization. He will act as the lead administrative staff person working with the FCHN Board Finance Committee and will additionally oversee the functions of the accounting, revenue cycle, patient billing, patient registration, medical records, and materials management departments.

“It is a credit to the quality of our hospital and health network that we were able to successfully recruit Wayne,” said Ryder. “He is an exceptionally capable chief financial officer who will bring us substantial strength in finance.”

Bennett presently serves as the CFO for Mt. Ascutney in Windsor, Vermont. Before that he was the CFO at Mercy Health System of Maine that includes 230-bed Mercy Hospital in Portland, and was vice president of finance at Central Maine Healthcare, a three-hospital system that includes Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

Bennett holds a dual master’s degree in business administration and health administration from the Georgia State University, Institute of Health Administration.

Bennett plans to move to the area in the near future.
