STRONG – On Friday, March 25, local area business women met at the White Elephant on Main Street to showcase their various business ventures.

The idea came to Sarah Ryan of Strong, after she became an Independent Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics and wanted to get local women together  and get a little attention to their businesses. After grabbing her mother, Sonja Walker of Strong, of Print, Press, Personalize to get on board, Ryan hopped onto Facebook and got to recruiting. She thought of fellow Mt. Abram alumni and long-time acquaintances: Jessica Brown of Kingfield for Herbalife, Megan Norster of Strong for Ellie Rain Cakes, Shannon Monahan of Strong, a certified massage therapist; and Desiree and Carrie Abbott of Strong for Scentsy Wickless Candles. Rounding out the local group was Heather Walker of Strong for Pampered Chef and Lori Durrell of Madrid for Tupperware.

With a full roster in place, Ryan went to one very well-respected business woman, Karen Thorndike of Avon, owner of the White Elephant to set up the “Women’s Night.”

“Having all of the business women in the same room is truly motivating,” Norster said. “We all support one another, passing along the word and each others’ business cards, giving each other a helping hand.”

“Moms helping moms,” Walker added.

“Knowing everyone in the room is trying to juggle the same type of things you are, is comforting,” Ryan said. “Its nice to have a group of women I can turn to, that really get it.”

The debut was a big success and the ladies were talking of having another “Night” in the future. For more information, contact Norster at: meggreg_norster@yahoo.com.
