FARMINGTON – The first official week of the Market has come and gone, leaving us with lots of helpful of feedback, comments and hope for the future! Thank you to all who participated – we hope you are enjoying your food.

Maine Maple Sunday has passed, but it’s not too late to get your hands on some indescribably sweet local syrup! Check out what Counterpoint Farm and West Freeman Acres have to offer.

This week the Western Maine Market has some exciting new additions. There are now frozen strawberries from Stevenson’s Farm, a delicious addition to those frozen blueberries…smoothies, anyone?

From Whitehill Farm comes a wide-range of artisanal spices and seasoning, including MOFGA certified minced and powdered garlic.

The spinach crop at Marble Family Farms is thriving this time of year, so be sure to check out the beautiful bounty – we promise you will not be disappointed! Also from Marble Family Farms, Sarah is baking up a storm, perhaps you’d like to try Anadama toast with some dandelion blossom jelly from VoterVale Farm?

Cindy Hanson at Harry Brown’s farm is offering some sweet spring parsnips. She’s even included some recipes. Click on the Parsnip Recipe link when you are ordering.

What better way to round out a meal than with a sweet treat? Knowlton Corner Farm offers a step back in time with her Simple Scrumptious Cinnamon Sticks. Cut them into small pieces for just the right amount of sugary goodness.

We wanted to include a short reminder, since there was some confusion surrounding this last week. Paypal is the means through which you purchase items on the site – getting to the end of the order is a lengthy process. You will be sure you have successfully ordered when you receive a confirmation email thank you for your order.

Have fun using the Web site www.westernmainemarket.com and enjoy! See you on Tuesday, April 14, at Tranten’s for pick-up.
