Come to Strong for the Sandy River Festival, a day-long celebration of the natural beauty and rich history of the region. Water access for canoes, kayaks, activities and parking will be at the Legion Field at the bridge.

Activities for all ages:
Paddle from Strong to Fairbanks, with return shuttle provided (3 hrs.-9 miles of easy water; life jackets required per Maine law).
Log rolling, boom run, and ball drop competitions.
Fly casting lessons and fly tying demonstrations.
Presentations, storytelling, and music by the Sandy River Ramblers.
Inner tube run from Blue Ledge down to the bridge.
A visit with legendary fishing guide Fly Rod Crosby.
Great Grub Food Truck and breakfast sandwiches.
Strong Historical Society open for tours.
Strong Fire Department noon cookout.
