FARMINGTON – Ice skaters, young and not-so-young, enjoyed the smooth conditions on a mostly sunny Sunday at the Hippach Field rink. Thanks to a blast of cold and the rink’s superintendent, Madison Moody, a student at the University of Maine at Farmington, the rink opened this week to grateful skating families and friends.
The Dick Williams Memorial Skating Program usually runs to around Feb. 1, or possibly longer, as long as weather conditions allow. Rink hours are 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Hockey is played at night on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The warm field house next to the rink is open Monday through Friday from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 8:30 p.m.
