Day 1 at KVACs: Racing towards finishing first

GREAT FORM: Mt. Blue’s Heather Farrington finished fifth in Wednesday’s Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference girls’ giant slalom championship race. Mt. Blue girls own a 46-76 lead over second place Edward Little after one day of races. Mt. Blue’s second day of KVAC racing will be held at Titcomb Mountain on Saturday. (Images by The Distant Future)


FLYING DOWNHILL: Mt. Blue’s Jared Foster races down the giant slalom course at Black Mountain, Wednesday. Foster finished 9th in the GS helping the Cougar boys to a second place finish after the first day of competition at the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference ski championships.


EXTRA EFFORT: Mt. Blue’s Richie Brooks drives hard to the finish line at Black Mountain, Wednesday afternoon. Brooks finished fourth in the 5K freestyle race at the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference ski championships. 


DOWNHILL SPEED: Mt. Blue’s Emily Ramsey heads down the last hill heading towards the finish line at Black Mountain, Wednesday afternoon. Ramsey finished 6th in the 5K freestyle race help the Cougars girls team jump into first place after one day of racing at the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference ski championships.
