FARMINGTON – In one of the largest gatherings this year, 12 candidates running for governor met and addressed the public at a breakfast put on by the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Wednesday morning.

In attendance were Democratic Party candidates Donna Dion, Pat McGowan, John Richardson, Steve Rowe and Rosa Scarcelli; Republican Party candidates Steve Abbott, Bill Beardsley, Matt Jacobson, Paul LePage and Peter Mills; and Green Independent Party candidate Lynne Williams and Independent candidate Kevin Scott. Republican candidate Les Otten, although not personally present, sent a representative.

Each addressed an audience that consisted of business owners, organization representatives, candidates in local elections and people from each end of the political spectrum. Candidates were allowed to speak for a few minutes, most using the time to introduce themselves and pledge to streamline state government and implement job-creation policies.
