Industry’s fireworks display postponed (again)

1 min read

INDUSTRY – For the second time this wet, wet, wet summer, Industry’s fireworks have been postponed, this time until Labor Day.

The popular fireworks show the Industry Fire Department puts on every Fourth of July on the Wing Farm’s pasture had been postponed due to wet conditions earlier this month to tomorrow night to coincide with Farmington’s Strawberry Festival.

But the much-too soggy fields where spectators park by the car loads to watch the bright show in the sky are still too soggy.

Fire Chief Joe Paradis is going to give it one last shot on Labor Day. Maybe by then a welcome drought in August will dry out those fields enough to hold the fireworks.

The fireworks display is an important fund raiser for the fire department. Several thousand dollars has been raised in the past to purchase equipment for the fire crew.
