WILTON – Organizers of the first Wilton Winter Wonderland Festival scheduled for December 1-17,
are looking for participation and support from local Wilton residents, business owners, clubs and organizations to make this event successful.

The Wilton Group Events Committee came up with the idea for a new festival as a way to bring the community together and increase an awareness of businesses, clubs, and organizations in Wilton, according to Susan Atwood, the group’s chair.

The festival will include displaying decorated Christmas trees in the Bass-Wilson Building and hanging decorated wreaths along Main Street. After the final public viewing of the trees on Dec. 17, the decorated trees can be donated to Wilton families or may be kept by the donor. Organizations and businesses can work together and share the cost of the tree.

There are three ways to participate:

Christmas trees will be displayed at the Bass-Wilson Building. All trees must be ordered and paid for by Tuesday, Nov. 16. Trees are being supplied by Rocky Hill Landscape and will be delivered to the Bass-Wilson Building on Dec. 1. You can place you order today by calling Rocky Hill Landscape at 645-5381 or send your $25 check to 55 Cemetery Road, Wilton, ME by Nov. 16th. Stands will be provided but decorations and lights are the responsibility of those who purchase the tree. For more details contact: Lisa Lindsay 645-4899.

Memory Wreaths, purchased by participants, will be decorated with lights and hung on the Wilton’

s Main Street lamp posts. For more details contact: Gina Balsamo 645-3037. Smaller decorated wreaths will also be hung along Main Street. For more, call Ray Jacques at Wilton Hardware 645-2244. All wreaths are being supplied by Boy Scout Troop 518 as part of their yearly fundraising activities.
