EAST WILTON – Thirty members of the National Honor Society chapter from Mt. Blue High School  took turns bowling for four hours today in an effort to raise money for the Farmington and Wilton food closets.

Mt. Blue’s NHS president, Alex Allen, said their goal was to raise as much as possible today for the local charities that  provide food for needy families. This is the third year Mt. Blue students have bowled to benefit the food closets.

“We’ve raised $400 for four hours of bowling,” Allen said, adding, “we’re very happy with what we’ve raised.” The students sought sponsors who paid a given amount and, in turn, the students were busy bowling until 3 p.m. today at Meadow Lanes.

“It’s a lot of fun,” Allen said smiling.
