Children’s Festival needs your help

FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Children’s Task Force is seeking participants to provide children with hands-on activities for this year’s Children’s Festival scheduled to take place on Feb. 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the University of Maine at Farmington’s student center.

“The economic downturn has really limited those participating in this year’s activities” said executive director Renee Blanchet, “this has resulted in us having fewer activities for children than in years past. However one agencies limitation is another’s opportunity and for the first time in years we will be able to bring in fresh new activities for kids. “

The Children’s Festival is a day for families to beat those winter blues and get out and enjoy a day of activities, entertainment and low cost food. Commercial solicitation is not permitted at the festival so it’s a stress free day for families. Anyone interested in having an activity at this year’s festival should contact the Children’s Task Force at 778-6960 and speak with Lynda Davis.
