In celebration of National Poetry Month, Central Maine Community College will host a “Poetry Slam” 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22 in the Kirk Hall Auditorium. Students, faculty, staff and the public are invited to attend and read their own work or that of a favorite poet. Adjunct instructor and poet Nancy Henry will read some of her work and other experienced ‘slammers’ will be on hand to discuss and demonstrate the fine art of poetry slamming. Those who wish to come and just listen are also encouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be served, and prizes will be given to ‘winners’ as selected by those in attendance.
